Travelling over the Remutaka Hill since a child (on the back of a truck) and then owning a property in Carterton which required many trips regardless of the weather has always vaguely frightened me. We undoubtably need a straighter road. During the 70's I travelled on northern Italys autostrata - excellent roads, many tunnels to take out the bends and I thought why can't NZ do this. I hope you succeed with this plan.
