"The current hill road is a source of continuous problems, it's dangerous, slow and frustrating. It's also causes a lot of wear and tear on cars plus it uses a lot more fuel to get over. Constantly closed at night and the the escorts that are available are most certainly an inconvenience an and insult to ones intelligence. They are often hard to get to on time as there are often road works in other areas in Wellington that cause delays.. Makes me sick that they keep pouring money into the current road when there's been a train tunnel open since 1955. I live in the Wairarapa and absolutely hate the Remutaka hill road and no amount of cutting corners or trying to dress it up will make me change how I feel about it. Thank you for your work and looking at what other options that could be viable."
