As Chairman of a large transport and logistics company operating nationwide, I support an investigation into a new highway between Featherston and Kaitoke. My company has branches in Masterton, Wellington and Lower Hutt with truck and trailer units crossing the Remutakas most days. The existing highway is not fit for purpose and puts at risk the efficient transport of goods into and out of the Wairarapa, which are the life blood of our local economy.
